About Our Program

We are thrilled to introduce an exciting new program that is set to shape the future of our school community – the Wheat Middle School Dance & Colorguard program! This innovative program is designed to nurture talent, foster growth, and prepare our students for excellence in the arts at Wheat, at CHS, and beyond!

Pre-Drill Team and Pre-Colorguard: Cultivating Young Performers

Our dance and colorguard program is a platform for budding performers to discover and develop their passion for movement, equipment, and performance. This program is led by Layne Martin, who has a background in both dance and colorguard as a performer, competitor, and leader. This program will introduce students to the worlds of dance, teamwork, and healthy competition; helping students build coordination, confidence, and a strong foundation in dance, equipment, performance, and competition techniques. Our goal is to lay the groundwork for future members of the CHS Showstoppers and/or the Golden Pride Colorguard while inspiring a lifelong love for dance, fitness, music, and all of the performing arts.

Empowering Potential

By participating in this program, students will not only gain valuable skills and knowledge but also develop qualities such as teamwork, discipline, and self-expression. The Wheat Middle School Dance & Colorguard program’s aim is to empower students to embrace their passions and reach for the stars.
