About Our Program

The Wheat Middle school choir program is a dynamic and inclusive music education experience. We offer young singers the opportunity to develop their vocal skills, musical literacy, and appreciation for a variety of musical styles through daily instruction and ensemble performance.

Students learn proper vocal technique, music reading, ear training, and performance etiquette. Repertoire includes a diverse range of genres, and accommodates students' varying experience and skill levels.

Throughout the year, students participate in concerts, festivals, and competitions, such as the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region Choir auditions and UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation. These events provide valuable performance experience and opportunities for personal and ensemble growth.

In addition to musical training, the choir program emphasizes teamwork, discipline, confidence, and creativity, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where students can thrive both musically and personally.
